Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBG Global have established Phil Mickelson as a 6/1 favorite. With Tiger Woods not playing it’s easy to understand Mickelson is the favorite – especially considering his 43 professional wins.
After Mickelson, there are seemingly some great values for the 2009 Shell Houston Open. Sergio Garcia is a 20/1 long shot, while Padraig Harrington and Camilo Villegas are 16/1 long shots. Geoff Ogilvy is 12/1 and Steve Stricker is 20/1.
The 2009 Shell Houston Open player field comprises 15 of the Top 20 golfers in the World Golf Rankings. Some believe it’s one of the strongest fields they’ve had since 1986, which was the first year of The World Golf Rankings.
