The Oakland Raiders were absolutely crushed by the
Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football in Week 1. Quarterback JaMarcus Russell
was under intense pressure throughout the entire game and Broncos’ signal
caller Jay Cutler and rookie receiver Eddie Royal shredded the Oakland defense.
The Raiders won’t face quite the same passing challenge as they did Monday
night, but Larry Johnson provides quite the test on the ground.

The Kansas City Chiefs battled the New England
Patriots in Week 1, but eventually fell 17-10 after quarterback Brodie Croyle
was knocked out of the game due to a separated shoulder. Damon Huard will once
again start under center, but don’t expect the Chiefs to put it in the air too
much. Larry Johnson looks healthy again and even though the Kansas City line is
below average, the Raiders’ front seven struggled last week against Denver.

Oddsmakers from online

have made the Chiefs 3.5 point favorites. Theover/under total has been set at 36 and current public
betting information
shows that 68% of bettors favor Kansas City –3.5. With
how bad the Raiders looked at home Monday night, it’s hard to back them. The
Chiefs aren’t expected to make a lot of noise this year, but their defensive
front should shut down Oakland’s running game and force Russell to make
mistakes. Johnson should be able to find decent running holes, as well. We
predict the Chiefs over the Raiders 16-10.
