The unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs head to Lumen Field to face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football Week 7. Kansas City is 5-0, while Seattle has dropped two straight to fall to 3-3. Still, the market makes the home team a 3-point favorite with a total of 42. That spread has moved toward Seattle all week, even though the public is backing Kansas City heavily. Below, we break down the injuries, the line movement and where we see value on the spread and the total.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview
Kansas City is the only unbeaten team left in the AFC and sits atop the AFC West. The Chiefs moved to 5-0 last Sunday with a 22-6 win over the Chargers. Kenneth Walker III ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns in that game, and he leads the NFL in rushing. The defense held Los Angeles to 259 total yards and forced two turnovers. Kansas City is 3-2 against the spread this season.
This one carries extra weight for Walker. He was the Super Bowl MVP for Seattle in February before signing with Kansas City in free agency. Now he gets a Sunday night stage against his former team.
Seattle, meanwhile, is searching for answers. The Seahawks lost 32-29 at home to the 49ers in Week 5. Four days later, they fell 17-14 in overtime at Denver. Sam Darnold threw two interceptions in that loss, including one in overtime, and Denver sacked him five times. Seattle now trails the unbeaten 49ers in the NFC West.
The injury report cuts both ways. Kansas City placed left tackle Josh Simmons on injured reserve this week. Right tackle Jaylon Moore (concussion) and receiver Rashee Rice are ruled out. For Seattle, running back Zach Charbonnet and linebackers Chazz Surratt and Drake Thomas are out, per the Seahawks’ final injury report. DeMarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu and Nick Emmanwori are questionable. On the upside, guard Anthony Bradford returns from injured reserve.

Chiefs vs. Seahawks Prediction — Why Is the Line Moving Against the Public?
This spread opened with Seattle laying 2 and the Chiefs at +115 on the moneyline. It has since climbed to a full field goal, and the Kansas City moneyline has drifted to +130. That move came while 88 percent of spread bets landed on the Chiefs. When a number moves toward the side taking only 12 percent of tickets, it usually signals that larger, respected wagers are on the other side. In addition, 3 is the most important number in NFL betting, so the market reaching it is meaningful.
The matchup gives that move some logic. Kansas City is starting a patched-together offensive line, with Simmons on injured reserve and Moore ruled out. That is a difficult spot against a Seattle front playing at home in a primetime setting. The Chiefs are also without Rice, which thins out Patrick Mahomes’ receiving options. Meanwhile, Seattle gets Bradford back on its own interior line.
However, the case for Kansas City is easy to make. The Chiefs are unbeaten, and Walker is the league’s leading rusher. Seattle’s turnovers are a real problem, and Darnold’s late interceptions cost the Seahawks a winnable game in Denver. A Chiefs win outright would surprise no one. Still, we side with the market’s read on the trenches and the home team.
The Pick: Seahawks -3 (-105)
Chiefs vs. Seahawks Best Bet — Can Either Offense Find Its Rhythm?
The total opened at 43 and has dipped a point to 42, so the market also leans toward a lower-scoring game. Both offenses are short-handed. Kansas City is missing two starting tackles and its top receiver. Seattle is without Charbonnet and has managed just 14 points in regulation and overtime combined in its last game. The Seahawks scored only three points on their first eight drives in Denver. Kansas City’s defense, meanwhile, just allowed six points to the Chargers.
On the other hand, the price on the Over has shortened slightly, so some money is backing points. Seattle’s turnovers can also hand Mahomes short fields, and Walker can break a long run at any moment. Seattle also put up 29 points against San Francisco two weeks ago. Even so, the injuries on both sides point toward a grind.
The Pick: Under 42 (-105)
Sunday Night Football Week 7 Final Thoughts and Bonus Angle
We considered the Seahawks moneyline at -150 as a bonus play, but it adds little value over the spread at a cheaper price. The Chiefs at +130 are the natural contrarian look for bettors who trust Kansas City’s unbeaten form. However, that means betting with the public crowd while the line moves the other way.
