In order for Tres Borrachos to win the 133rd running of the Preakness Stakes he would need to post a career best time and beat some really long odds.
Oddsmakers from Online Sports Book Bodog say that is an unlikely scenario and have listed Tres Borrachos as one of four 30/1 long shot for Saturday’s race. Racecar Rhapsody, Riley Tucker and Stevil are the others.
Bet on Tres Borrachos in the 2008 Preakness Stakes
Despite Trainer and Owner C.B. Greely’s steady progress with Tres Borrachos and improved runs, history doesn’t appear to be on his side. His odds improved slightly after receiving his post assignment but it looks unrealistic to consider him a serious contender for the 133rd Preakness crown.
Tres Borrachos may be in the best form of his career right now but his best may not be good enough to tangle with some of the other stronger horses this Saturday.
Some players may take a gamble and place Tres Borrachos in some of their exotics in hopes of a big pay day but the majority of handicappers will no doubt do a double take before committing to heavily to this 30/1 long shot.
