Eric McAlister is listed as a starter for Boise State’s game Saturday at Washington, Jay Tust of KTVB Channel 7 reports. Latrell Caples (leg) suffered a season-ending injury, which opens up an opportunity for another receiver to start regularly. McAlister will be the first up to prove himself as a starter. The redshirt sophomore excelled in limited doses during 2022, when he logged 11 receptions for 259 yards (23.5 per reception) and four touchdowns across his eight games.
Washington Huskies Game Notes
Dillon Johnson is listed as the Huskies’ starting rusher for their game Saturday against Boise State, Mike Vorel of The Seattle Times reports. Because of a season-ending injury to Cameron Davis (undisclosed), the Huskies need to select their new primary rusher and have given that role to Johnson, who transferred from Mississippi State. While enrolled there for three seasons, the running back logged two of them in which he recorded more than 700 all-purpose yards.

Give me Washington. The Huskies defense should be vastly improved thanks to a linebacker corps that is loaded and a fierce pass rush. If the secondary can come up with more takeaways than it had a year ago, then Washington could be a sleeper playoff contender this season. Offensively, the Huskies’ passing game will be a huge issue for Boise State, which isn’t used to dealing with high-powered passing attacks.
