Daulton Varsho went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against his former team in Saturday’s win over the D-backs. At least the one non strikeout was hit well, traveling 380 feet to deep right-center. Still, Varsho’s at-bats have left a great deal to be desired all year long. He’s been so strong defensively that the Blue Jays aren’t likely to look to take him out of the lineup. However, his .212/.277/.363 line is hideous.

Given the Diamondbacks’ paltry 70 wRC+ over their last 10 games, I don’t trust that there will be enough offense to cash the over today at Rogers Centre. Yusei Kikuchi owns a 4.24 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across his 18 starts (93 1/3 innings) this season and Tommy Henry has been excellent for Arizona, posting a 5-1 record to accompany his 3.75 ERA. Finally, Toronto’s bullpen has been steady of late as well, while Arizona’s has been respectable.
