Tennessee Game Notes

Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler tore his ACL and he’ll miss the rest of the season. Zeigler is leading the Volunteers in assists this season with 5.4 per game and he’s tied for second on the club in scoring with 10.7 points per game. Zeigler could be a significant loss for Tennessee.

Tennessee guard Tyreke Key has missed the Volunteers’ last two games with an ankle injury, and he’s officially listed as questionable for Saturday’s tilt with Auburn. Key is averaging 8.1 points per game in 24 minutes per contest for the Volunteers this season.

Auburn Game Notes

Auburn center Dylan Cardwell injured his ankle in the Tigers’ game against Alabama on Wednesday and he is doubtful for their Saturday clash with Tennessee. Cardwell is putting up 3.7 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game in 13.7 minutes per contest for the Tigers this season.

Auburn’s leading scorer and rebounder is sophomore forward Johni Broome. The 6’10” native of Plant City, Florida is posting 13.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 52.5% from the field this season. If Broome can stay out of foul trouble, he could have a major impact on this game.

Tennessee vs. Auburn CBB Betting Trends

Tennessee is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning straight-up record.

Tennessee is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games.

Auburn is 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games following an outright loss.

The under is 6-2-1 in Tennessee’s last 9 games overall.

Tennessee vs. Auburn CBB Prediction:

Tennessee is a team in free fall. The Volunteers have lost 5 of their last 9 games after starting the season 18-3. They are also hurt by the absence of guard Zakai Zeigler and the potential absence of guard Tyreke Key. Auburn is a great home team. They are 13-2 straight up at home this season with their only home losses coming against Alabama and Texas A&M, the two best teams in the SEC. I think Auburn gets a much-needed ranked win against a shorthanded and floundering Tennessee team in Neville Arena on Saturday.

CBB BETTING PREDICTION: AUBURN TIGERS -1.5
