OUR PREDICTION: The Horned Frogs look back defensively under Gary Patterson. That was a strong display of defense on the road last week versus Arkansas, but TCU will be tested by SMU this afternoon. The Mustangs are averaging 56 points a game and boast one of the top receivers in the country in junior Courtland Sutton. SMU has also been opportunistic on defense, forcing five turnovers, all of which have been turned into touchdowns. With TCU coming off a revenge win against Arkansas and in a look-ahead spot with Oklahoma State coming up next week, this is a nice “sandwich” pick with SMU.
