How many teams will trade up tonight?
CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) – How many teams will trade up in the first round during the 2015 NFL Draft tonight?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the over/under for the number of teams that will trade up in the first round tonight is sitting at 2.5. The over is carrying odds of 2/9, while the under has odds of 3/1. Thus, oddsmakers are hedging that more than 2.5 teams will be trading up tonight.
The two teams that have been rumored to want to trade up are the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, there were rumors on Wednesday that the Browns were willing to offer the Titans both of their first round picks (selections No. 12 and No. 19) in exchange for the No. 2 overall pick. Cleveland would then presumably select Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. The Eagles have also been rumored to want Mariota but they’d likely have to give up first round picks in each of their next two drafts (along with their pick at No. 20 this year).
One other rumor had the Falcons going from No. 8 to No. 5 with the Redskins if Dante Fowler Jr. were still on the board. Atlanta is in desperate need of pass rushers so if Fowler were to fall, the Falcons may become impatient waiting to see if he’d fall.
