LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The first-round series that appears to be the most competitive in the NBA Playoffs has the San Antonio Spurs facing the Los Angeles Clippers.
Los Angeles is the third seed in the West. The Clippers went 56-26 on the season while also going 30-11 at home, 26-15 on the road and 37-15 in conference play. The Spurs are the sixth seed in this conference. San Antonio was 55-27 on the season, 33-8 at home, 22-19 on the road and 32-20 in conference play. Los Angeles will have the home-court advantage in the series.
According to oddsmakers at online sports book GT Bets, the Spurs are actually the slim favorite to win this series, as they are getting odds of -185 to prevail, while the Clippers are getting a money line of +160 to win. Game 1 of this series is set to take place on Sunday at 10:30PM ET.
These two teams met four times during the regular season, with both teams winning twice, once on the road and once at home. The Clippers won the last two meetings of the season, but the Spurs had won and covered the spread in four straight against the Clippers prior to that. These two have hit the over in seven of their last nine meetings, but they split the total in the four games this season.
