Will Seahawks cover spread vs. Pats?
GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) – Will the Seahawks cover the spread versus the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX today at 6:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 1.5-point favorites over the Seahawks for the 2015 Super Bowl. Some online books have Seattle listed as a 1-point favorite while the game is a pick’em at most Vegas books. But if you can still get Seattle as an underdog, take them.
The Patriots haven’t covered the spread in their last four Super Bowl games, which includes back-to-back losses to the Giants in 2008 and 2012, as well as in wins over the Panthers (2004) and Eagles (2005). The Pats are also just 1-9 against the spread in their last 10 games on grass and 4-11 at the betting window in their last 15 playoff games.
On the other side, the Seahawks are an impressive 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games following a straight up win and 5-2 against the number in their last seven playoff games. They’re also 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games on grass and 16-6 ATS in their last 22 games when they failed to cover the number in their previous contest.
