NE, Seattle favored SB XLIX game
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The NFL Playoffs are down to the conference championship games, which will be held Sunday. Which two teams will end up meeting in Super Bowl XLIX?
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, the favored pairing of the Super Bowl is the Patriots vs. Seahawks, which has 5/6 odds. The other pairing odds are Colts vs. Seahawks (3/1), Patriots vs. Packers (4/1) and Colts vs. Packers (8/1).
The Patriots and Seahawks are the top seeds in both conference and both have the home-field advantage for Sunday’s title games. Both are also big favorites in their respective games, as Seattle is a 7.5-point favorite against the Packers while the Patriots are a 6.5-point favorite against the Colts.
The Colts would be the big surprise, as they are the No. 4 seed in the AFC and they would have to win in Denver and in New England in back-to-back games. Yet, the Colts have a smaller spread than Green Bay, which is the No. 2 seed in the NFC. The Packers are dealing with a major injury to the calf of QB Aaron Rodgers, which isn’t good considering the speed and physicality of the Seattle defense.
Seattle already defeated Green Bay at home this season, 36-16 in the season opener. The Patriots also picked up a win over Indianapolis this season, 42-20 in Indy. The Patriots also beat the Colts at home in last year’s playoffs by a score of 43-22.
