HOUSTON, TX (The Spread) – After pulling off an impressive upset last week versus the Ravens can the Texans cover as double-digit favorites today versus the Jaguars at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Texans are 9.5-point home favorites over the Jaguars while the over/under total is currently sitting at 40.5 points. Houston opened as a 10-point favorite but the line has dropped off the key number while the total opened at 40.5 and hasn’t moved.
The under has been a solid bet when these two teams have met, going 5-2 in the last seven games between the two franchises. The under is also a perfect 5-0 in the Jaguars’ last five games in December, 4-0 in their last four games versus AFC opponents and 18-7-1 in their last 26 divisional games.
On the other side the under is 5-1 in the Texans’ last six games overall, 5-1 in their last six games versus AFC opponents and 4-1 in their last five games following a straight up win. The under is also a profitable 21-8-1 in Houston’s last 30 games in the month of December.
