NFL Week 3 Las Vegas Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The odds are out for Week 3 in the NFL and several lines are on the move in Las Vegas.
The action this week gets kicked off in Atlanta when the Falcons host the Buccaneers on “Thursday Night Football.” Despite suffering an ugly loss to the Bengals in Week 2, Atlanta opened as a 5-point home favorite against Tampa Bay and the line has been bet up to 6.5 at the MGM Mirage in Las Vegas. The total, meanwhile, has stayed at 44.5 after opening at that same number.
Of course the biggest game of the week isn’t a nationally televised prime-time game as the Seahawks host the Broncos at 4:25PM ET on Sunday afternoon. After opening as a 4.5-point favorite, the Hawks are now a 5-point home favorite in Vegas while the total has gone from 49 down to 48.5. This matchup, of course, is a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl when the Seahawks routed the Broncos 43-8.
One interesting line move this week is in the Green Bay-Detroit game. The Packers opened as 1-point road favorites but the line has swung in the favor of the Lions, who are now 1.5-point home favorites. The total for this game opened at 52 and that’s where the number sits at the majority of Vegas sports books.
One other line of note: the Jets-Bears game on “Monday Night Football” has gone from being a pick’em to being New York -2.5. Considering Chicago is coming off a nationally televised come-from-behind victory over the 49ers on the road and the Jets blew a 21-3 lead in Green Bay, it’s interesting to see how the line is moving in this contest.
