Seattle opened as 3.5-point favorites before the number was bet up, while the total opened at 44.5 and that’s where it sits now, although at some sports books that number is moving up.
The Seahawks looked like they were in midseason form last Thursday night when they kicked off the NFL regular season with a 36-16 thrashing of the Packers as a 6.5-point home favorite. Russell Wilson threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns on 19-of-28 passing while Marshawn Lynch rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. The Seattle defense also harassed Aaron Rodgers throughout the night, as the Green Bay signal-caller threw for only 189 yards.
While the Seahawks received extra rest throughout the past week and a half, the Chargers will have to rebound quickly from their 18-17 loss to the Cardinals on Monday night. Quarterback Philip Rivers threw for 238 yards and a touchdown on 21-of-36 passing while tight end Antonio Gates caught six passes for 81 yards in the loss. San Diego’s defense gave up two fourth-quarter touchdowns to blow a 17-6 lead.
