The Rockets come into the playoffs as the No. 4 seed in the West while the Blazers are the No. 5 seed. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Houston is the slight favorite to win this series, as the Rockets have odds of -220 to win, while the Blazers have a money line of +185 to prevail.
Houston went 54-28 on the season, finishing second in the Southwest Division. The Rockets were 33-8 at home, 21-20 on the road and 31-21 in conference play. The Rockets averaged 107.7 points per game on offense this season, but also allowed 103.1 points per game on defense.
Portland was also 54-28 this season, finishing second in the Northwest Division. The Blazers were 31-10 at home and 23-18 on the road to go along with a 31-21 conference record. Portland averaged 106.7 points per game offensively, while allowing 102.8 points per game on defense.
These two teams met four times during the regular season, with Houston winning three of the four games. The Rockets claimed the lone road win in the series, but the two split the spread in the four games. Houston has won five of its last six meetings with the Blazers, dating back to last season.
