Texans vs. Jaguars Week 2 Odds
JACKSONVILLE, FL (The Spread) – AFC South rivals clash in Jacksonville on Sunday when the Jaguars host the Texans at 1:00PM ET.
HOUSTON: The Texans took care of business at home against the Dolphins last week, beating the Dolphins 30-10 as a 13-point favorite. The combined score fell just under the posted total of 41.5 points as Matt Schaub threw for 266 yards. Arian Foster, meanwhile, rushed for 79 yards and Andre Johnson led Houston with 119 receiving yards.
JACKSONVILLE: The Jaguars nearly pulled off a nice comeback against the Vikings last week but they fell 26-23 in overtime to Minnesota. The combined score sailed over the posted total of 38 points as both teams combined for 30 second-half points. Blaine Gabbert threw for 250 yards, Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 77 yards and Cecil Shorts finished with a team-high 74 yards receiving.
ODDS: The Texans are currently listed as a 7-point favorite over the home Jaguars, while the over/under total is sitting at 41.5. Right now 65% of the NFL betting public favors Houston so it’s doubtful that the spread will drop. If anything, it’ll only rise the closer we get to Sunday’s game.
TRENDS: The favorite is 3-0-1 against the spread in the last four games between these two teams, while the home team is 3-1-1 against the number in the last five meetings. The Texans are 13-6-1 against the spread in their last 20 games versus the Jaguars.
