Browns vs. Bengals Week 2 Odds
CINCINNATI, OH (The Spread) – AFC North rivals square off in Cincinnati this Sunday when the 0-1 Bengals host the 0-1 Browns at 1:00PM ET.
CLEVELAND: The Browns nearly pulled off a great upset last Sunday against the Eagles, but eventually fell 17-16 when their defense couldn’t must one last stop late in the fourth quarter. Rookie Brandon Weeden had a horrendous debut, completing just 12-of-35 passes for 118 yards and four interceptions. Trent Richardson didn’t fare much better in his first NFL regular season game, as he rushed for just 39 yards on 19 carries (2.1 YPC). The defense played well enough for Cleveland to win but Michael Vick put together a late scoring drive to finish off the Browns, 17-16. Cleveland did cover as 9-point home favorite, however.
CINCINNATI: Week 1 wasn’t kind to the Bengals, either. They were drubbed 44-13 by the Ravens, who scored 27 second-half points. Andy Dalton competed 22-of-37 passes for 221 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, while rookie A.J. Green was held to five catches for 70 yards. The defense couldn’t slow down Baltimore’s new-look no-huddle offense as it allowed 430 yards including 308 through the air. The Ravens covered easily as a 7-point favorite and the combined score flew over the posted total of 42.5 points.
ODDS: The Bengals opened as 7-point home favorites over the Browns and that’s where the spread currently sits as 76% of the betting public currently favors Cincinnati. The total for this game is 39.5.
TRENDS: The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Cincinnati while the underdog is 9-1 against the spread in the last 10 meetings overall.
