Arizona Diamondbacks 2012 Season Win Total & World Series Odds

Diamondbacks 2012 Season Odds

(The Spread) – Following a successful 2011 season that concluded with a postseason berth, the Arizona Diamondbacks hope to repeat as NL West champs in 2012.

Oddsmakers currently list the Diamondbacks’ 2012 World Series odds at +2000 while their National League Pennant odds are sitting at +800. They’re also +175 to win the National League West and have an over/under total of 86.5 for number of wins in 2012.

The Diamondbacks were very active this winter. They re-signed Willie Bloomquist to a two-year contract and agreed to terms with catcher Henry Blanco (one year), Aaron Hill (two years), John McDonald (two years), Cody Ransom (minor league contract), Lyle Overbay (one-year) and Joe Saunders (one-year).

The biggest move Arizona made this offseason was acquiring Trevor Cahill and Craig Breslow from the A’s in exchange for Jarrod Parker, Ryan Cook and Collin Cowgill. The D-Backs also signed Jason Kubel (Twins) to a two-year deal and Takashi Saito (Brewers) to a one-year contract.

The Diamondbacks won 94 games last year while winning the NL West and there’s no reason they can’t make another postseason run this season. As long as Justin Upton and Daniel Hudson remain as productive as they were last year, Arizona should challenge San Francisco for the division crown again in 2012.
