Saturday’s Opening NHL Lines
(The Spread) – Saturday offers a full slate of NHL action, including a matchup between “The Original Six.”
The marquee matchup of the day will take place at Joe Lewis Arena as the Detroit Red Wings (27-15-1) host the Chicago Blackhawks (26-13-5) at 12:30PM ET on NBC. The Hawks are 5-0 in their last five trips to Detroit and 5-2 in their last seven games overall versus the Red Wings. The under is also 7-2 in the last nine meetings between these two teams and 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Detroit. The Wings opened as –150 money line favorites over the Hawks, who are +130 on the ML.

In the late game on the NHL Network the Toronto Maple Leafs (22-15-5) will host the New York Rangers (27-10-4) at 7:00PM ET. The under is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Toronto but according to latest NHL trends the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall. The road team is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and the Rangers are 5-1 in their last six road games. New York opened as a –130 money line favorite while Toronto is currently sitting as a +110 money line underdog.
There’s a solid matchup in Nashville tonight between the Predators (+100) and Flyers, who have opened as –120 money line favorites. The home team is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams while the under is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings overall.
