2011 NFL Week 11 on CBS: Titans vs. Falcons Point Spread Odds & Total

Titans vs. Falcons Week 11 Odds

ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – The Titans will look to beat their second NFC South opponent in as many weeks when they travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons at 4:15PM ET.

TENNESSEE: Chris Johnson may officially be on track. After compiling over 100 yards in the Titans’ loss to the Bengals two weeks ago, Johnson broke out with a 130-yard effort in a 30-3 win over the Panthers in Week 10. That victory improved Tennessee’s record to 5-4 on the year and 4-5 against the spread. While they remain two games behind the Texans in the AFC South, Mat Schaub’s season-ending injury gives the Titans new life. Matt Leinart, who will replace Schaub at quarterback, failed as a full-time starter in Arizona and hasn’t attempted a pass since 2009. Tennessee is sure to have an extra spring in its step from here on out.

ATLANTA: Mike Smith has taken a lot of heat for his decision to go for it on fourth-and-1 at his own 29-yard-line in overtime last Sunday against the Saints. And rightfully so. As soon as Michael Turner was bottled up for a loss, the Saints took over and predictably marched right into field goal range for a 26-23 victory. That gave New Orleans a two-game lead in the NFC South and dropped Atlanta’s record to 5-4 on the year. After covering the spread in three straight games, the Falcons are now 4-5 against the number following their loss to the Saints. This team continues to struggle when Turner doesn’t rush for at least 100 yards because offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey refuses to develop the passing game.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Falcons as a 6-point favorite over the Titans, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 44 points. Tennessee comes into this week with a 5-4 record overall and is 2-2 on the road, while Atlanta is 5-4 overall and 2-2 at home.

TRENDS: The Titans are 1-5 against the number in their last six games in November and 0-5 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win. The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last five November games and 18-5 ATS in their last 23 games following a straight up loss. The under is also 4-0 in the Titans’ last four November games and 5-0 in the Falcons’ last five games overall.
