Panthers vs. Lions NFL Week 11 Odds
DETROIT, MI (The Spread) – The Lions look to bounce back from their most recent defeat when they host the Panthers at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
CAROLINA: The Panthers came out of their bye week completely flat and paid for it in a 30-3 loss to the Titans in Week 10. That dropped Carolina’s record to 2-7 on the year as the Panthers have now failed to cover in three of their last four games. Cam Newton still leads the team with seven touchdowns and 2,605 passing yards, but teams are starting to find more and more ways to score against the Panthers’ overmatched defense.
DETROIT: The Lions continued their recent Jekyll & Hyde ways with a 37-13 loss to the Bears last Sunday. That loss came after their bye and following their impressive 45-10 dismantling of the Broncos in Denver three weeks ago. The loss dropped the Lions’ record to 6-3 on the year and put them in a two-way tie with the Bears for second place in the NFC North. Matthew Stafford played last week with a fractured right finger and it showed in his brutal performance. He was intercepted four times by Chicago, which returned two of those picks for touchdowns.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Lions as a 7-point favorite over the Panthers, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 47 points. Carolina comes into this week with a 2-7 record overall and is 0-3 on the road, while Detroit is 6-3 overall and 2-2 at home.
TRENDS: The Panthers are 1-4 against the number in their last five games against the Lions but the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between these two teams. Carolina is 1-5 ATS in its last six road games and 1-5 ATS in its last six games as a road underdog. The Lions are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games.
