Saints vs. Rams NFL Week 8 Odds
(The Spread) – Following their 62-7 victory over the Colts in Week 8, the Saints look to roll again this Sunday when they travel to St. Louis to take on the Rams.
NEW ORLEANS: The Saints set a franchise record for point scored in their 62-7 rout of the Colts last Sunday night. The win improved New Orleans’ record to 5-2 and allowed the Saints to stay a game ahead of the Buccaneers and Falcons in the NFC South. New Orleans is now 4-3 against the spread as the over has hit in four of its seven games thus far. Drew Brees has thrown for 2,477 yards while rookie Mark Ingram has rushed for 329 yards and tight end Jimmy Graham leads the team with five touchdowns.
ST. LOUIS: The Rams remain winless on the year after losing 34-7 to the Cowboys in Dallas last Sunday. St. Louis’ brutal first-half schedule continues this weekend when they host a New Orleans team that just scored 62 points in its previous game. St. Louis is now 0-6 overall and has yet to cover the spread this season. Steven Jackson has 290 rushing yards on the year and three touchdowns, while rookie Sam Bradford has thrown for 1,177 yards. Bradford missed last Sunday’s game due to a high ankle sprain, but should be back this weekend. (Update: Check that, Bradford has been scratched. A.J. Feeley will start again this week.)
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Saints as 13-point road favorites over the Rams, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47.5 points. New Orleans is 2-2 on the road this season while St. Louis is 0-3 at home.
TRENDS: The over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams in St. Louis and 6-2 in the last eight overall meetings. The Saints are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games and 1-5 in their last six versus the NFC, while the Rams are 0-6 ATS in their last six games versus the NFC and 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.
