Packers vs. Vikings NFL Week 7 Odds
(The Spread) – NFC North rivals clash in Minnesota this week when the Vikings host the Packers at 4:15PM ET.
GREEN BAY: The Packers keep cruising right along and have now won six in a row following their 24-3 victory over the Rams in Week 6. Green Bay is 6-0 overall and 5-1 against the spread, which includes a 2-1 ATS mark on the road. Aaron Rodgers continues to kill opposing defenses with his arm, compiling 2,031 yards through the air thus far. Meanwhile, Greg Jennings leads the team in receptions with four and Morgan Burnett has a team-high three interceptions.
MINNESOTA: It’s official: Rookie Christian Ponder is now the Vikings’ starting quarterback following Donovan McNabb’s demotion earlier in the week. And doesn’t it get any tougher for a quarterback in his first-ever professional start? Ponder will have his work cut out for him against the defending Super Bowl champion Packers, although Green Bay has certainly had its issues defensively this season so maybe the rook will hold his own. With its embarrassing 39-10 loss to the Bears last Sunday night, the Vikings are now 1-5 on the year and 2-3-1 against the spread.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the visiting Packers as 9-point favorites although now that the public knows Ponder will be starting at quarterback, the line could climb to the key number of 10 before kickoff on Sunday. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 46.5 points.
TRENDS: The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and 8-2-1 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Minnesota. The Packers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five trips to Minnesota and 6-2 in their last eight meetings overall. The favorite is also 6-2 ATS in the last eight games between these two teams while the road squad is 13-5 ATS in the last 18 matchups.
