(The Spread) – The Lions look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they host the Falcons at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.
ATLANTA: The Falcons got back in the win column with a 31-17 victory over the Panthers at home in Week 6. Michael Turner rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns as Atlanta largely stayed on the ground. The win pushed the Falcons’ overall record to 3-3 and their ATS record to 2-4. They’re 0-3 against the number on the road this year with non-covers against the Bears, Seahawks and Bucs.
DETROIT: The Lions suffered their first loss of the season last weekend when the 49ers pulled off the 25-19 upset. That dropped Detroit’s record to 5-1 on the season and 4-1-1 against the spread. The under hit for the second straight time but the over is still 4-2 in all Detroit games this season. Calvin Johnson leads the team with nine touchdowns and 564 receiving yards.

ODDS: The Lions opened as a 4.5-point favorite but the line is already down to 3.5 at most books. Obviously bettors are rushing back onto the Falcons’ bandwagon with their convincing second half performance against the Panthers, although it’s important to remember that Carolina is just 1-5 on the season. The over/under total for the Atlanta-Detroit game is currently sitting at 48.5 points.
TRENDS: The Lions are 16-4 against the spread in all games over the last two seasons and 9-2 ATS in home games over the past two years. They’re also 13-3 ATS against a conference opponent over the last two seasons and 14-3 ATS in all games where the total is set between 42.5 and 49 points over the last two seasons.
