Eagles vs. Redskins NFL Week 6 Odds
(The Spread) – Can the Eagles turn their season around with a win over divisional foe Washington this Sunday?
The Eagles have lost four of their first five games including four in a row. They haven’t won or covered since a 31-13 victory over the winless Rams in Week 1 and for the first time all year, they find themselves as underdogs on Sunday.
Oddsmakers have installed Philadelphia as a 1-point road underdog against the Redskins, who are 3-1 on the year and 3-1 against the spread. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 47.5 points as oddsmakers continue to adjust their totals with the amount of overs that have hit in the first five weeks of the season.
Part of the reason why the Eagles have struggled is that they haven’t played a full four quarters since their win over the Rams. In each of their last three games they’ve held a lead in the second half, only to choke it away at the end. Michael Vick threw four interceptions last week against the Bills and he’s been one of the team’s bigger problems, along with an offensive line that can’t pass protect and a defense that can’t stop the run.
According to latest NFL trends, the over is 3-1-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Washington, while the Eagles are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five road games against the Redskins. The underdog is also 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings and 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings.
