2011 NFL Week 5 Matchup on FOX: Bucs vs. 49ers Odds & Spread

Bucs vs. 49ers Odds

(The Spread) – Two 3-1 teams will meet in San Francisco this Sunday when the 49ers host the Bucs at 4:05PM ET.

The Buccaneers will be on short rest after beating the Colts 24-17 on Monday night. The Bucs are 3-1 on the year but just 2-2 against the spread as they failed to cover against Detroit (Week 1) and Indianapolis (Week 4). The over has hit in three of their four games, with the lone exception being a 16-13 defensive struggle against Atlanta in Week 3.

The 49ers are off to a surprising 3-1 start under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, who was coaching in the college ranks last season. The Niners have covered the spread in three of their four games this season, with one push in a 27-24 loss to the Cowboys at home in Week 2. The over has hit in three of their four games, with the lone exception being a 13-8 road win against the Bengals in Week 3.

The 49ers opened as a 1-point home underdog against the Bucs this Sunday, but the line is now up to 3 at the Las Vegas Hilton. That’s a little strange when you consider that 55% of the NFL betting public currently favors Tampa Bay +3 but nevertheless, that’s how the line has moved out in Vegas.

According to latest NFL trends, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings between these two teams, while the home squad is 6-1 against the spread in the last seven meetings. The underdog is also 4-1 against the number in the last five meetings.

Kickoff for this game is set for 4:05PM ET on Sunday and can be seen on FOX.
