2011 NFL Week 5 Point Spreads
(The Spread) – The lines are out for Week 5 in the NFL, including odds for the big Sunday night tilt that will be a playoff rematch from a season ago.
Best at 1 o’clock: Eagles @ Bills
While the Saints-Panthers matchup is certainly noteworthy, it doesn’t get any more intriguing than Eagles-Bills in Buffalo. Philadelphia is sputtering something awful and the Bills were just handed their first loss of the season last Sunday in Cincinnati. Despite their 1-3 record and their current three-game slide, the Eagles are 3-point favorites in this matchup. The Bills can get right back on track in the AFC East with a win, as the Patriots and Jets are taking on each other at 4:00PM ET.
Best at 4 o’clock: Jets @ Patriots
As previously mentioned, the two top teams in the AFC East over the last two years have been the Patriots and Jets. These teams have had some real dogfights since Rex Ryan took over as head coach of the Jets, although his squad has issues at the moment. Following back-to-back road losses to the Raiders and Ravens, the Jets will head to Foxboro this Sunday where they’re a 9.5-point underdog. The over/under total for this game has opened at 49.5 points.

Sunday Night Football: Packers @ Falcons, 8:20PM ET
This will be a rematch of the NFC Divisional Round playoffs from a year ago, although that’s a game the Falcons would like to forget. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came strolling into Atlanta last January and absolutely obliterated Matt Ryan and Co., 48-21. The Falcons have had major issues throughout their first four games this season, particularly along the offensive line. Therefore, it’s no surprise to see the Packers listed as a 4-point road favorite this Sunday night.
Monday Night Football: Bears @ Lions, 8:30PM ET
What a year for oddsmakers to give Detroit a Monday Night Football home game. Wow. The Lions are 4-0 after staging two dramtic come-from-behind vicotires the last two weeks on the road, including a 34-30 win over the Cowboys in Dallas on Sunday. In that game, Detroit erased a 27-3 deficit thanks in large part to Tony Romo’s generosity. The Bears, meanwhile, are 2-2 but have looked awfully shaky since their convincing win against the Falcons in Week 1. Oddsmakers have surprisingly listed the Lions as a 6-point favorite, although they’re awfully tough at home nowadays.
