2011 NFL Week 3: Texans vs. Saints Picks & Predictions

Texans vs. Saints Free Pick

(The Spread) – In what could turn out to be a high-scoring affair, the Saints will host the Texans at 1:00PM ET on Sunday.

NFL Odds: One week after destroying the Bears at the Superdome, oddsmakers have installed the New Orleans Saints as 4-point favorites over the Houston Texans today. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 53 points thanks in large part to the scoring power that both of these teams posses.

Line Movement: The Saints opened as 4.5-point favorites but early action on the Texans pushed the line down to 3.5. The line has climbed back up to 4, but it’ll be interesting to see where it’s sitting closer to kickoff. Meanwhile, the over/under total is currently 53 in Las Vegas after opening at that same number.

Public Betting: Of the 12,000-plus wagers on today’s game, 73% of NFL public bettors currently favor the Saints -4. This information is subject to change leading up to kickoff, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date NFL public betting numbers.

NFL Week 3 Free Pick: Take New Orleans. According to latest NFL trends, the Saints are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a home favorite. On the other side, the Texans are 1-4 against the number in their last five games following a straight up win and 1-6 ATS in their lat seven as an underdog.  Without Arian Foster the Texans will have trouble creating balance against a New Orleans defense that played extremely well against Chicago last Sunday. Even though they certainly have the firepower on offense, Houston doesn’t want to get into a shootout with Drew Brees on his home carpet.

2011 NFL WEEK 3 FREE PICK: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS -4
