Sixteen games were played in Week 2, with the favorites covering in eight games and the underdogs covering in seven. There was also one push, as the Cowboys came from behind to beat the 49ers in overtime by a field goal.
Some of the more notable covers by the favorites were the Steelers, who covered the spread against the Seahawks (24-0) despite the line being nearly two touchdowns (13.5) at most online books. The Jets also smacked the Jaguars 32-3 as a 9-point favorite and the Saints cruised to a 30-13 win over the Bears as a 4.5-point favorite. The Lions also went to 2-0 on the season with a 48-3 blowout win over the Chiefs as a 9-point home fav.

As usual, there were a couple of underdogs that won outright, perhaps none bigger than the Titans beating the Ravens 26-13 as a 5.5-point favorite. The Bucs (+1) also came from behind to beat the Vikings with a 14-point fourth quarter and the Falcons upended Michael Vick and the Eagles 35-31 as a 2.5-point home dog.
The Panthers (+10.5) didn’t win but they produced a backdoor cover with a late touchdown in a 30-23 loss to the Packers. The Bengals (+3.5) also hung with the Broncos for all four quarters before falling 24-22, while the Cardinals lost to the Redskins 22-21 in Washington but covered the 4.5-point spread.
