Las Vegas NFL Week 2 Odds
(The Spread) – It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time to take a look at who the Las Vegas bookmakers like in Week 2 of the NFL.
If the spreads differ at all between the online books and Vegas, they differ by only a half-point for the games this week. That said, there is one big matchup where the online books differ by a full point from the oddsmakers in Vegas.
When the opening odds were released online, the Falcons were installed as 1.5-point home underdogs against the Eagles for the Sunday Night Football matchup this weekend. But the Vegas oddsmakers clearly didn’t like what they saw out of Atlanta last Sunday in Chicago because the Falcons are 2.5-point dogs at the Las Vegas Hilton. This game marks the biggest difference between the online and Vegas bookmakers at the start of the week.
The Steelers are the largest favorites in Week 2, as they’ve been installed as a 15-point favorite over the hapless Seahawks online but Vegas as Pittsburgh at –14.5. The Jets are also –10 versus the Jaguars online but –9.5 in Vegas, while Green Bay is –10.5 online for its game against Carolina, and –10 in Vegas.
The LV Hilton is one of the only books that lists a line for the Monday Night Game between the Rams and the Giants. Because of injuries to Steven Jackson and Sam Bradford, most online bookmakers refuse to set a line for that game. But the Hilton has installed the Giants as 6-point favorites after it was discovered the Jackson has been ruled out for Week 2. Bradford says he wants to play, but he’ll no doubt be listed as questionable heading into Monday night.
