NFL Week 3 Preseason Odds
(The Spread) – Check out the point spreads and over/under totals for Week 3 in the 2011 NFL Preseason.
Week 3 is often regarded as the most important week when it comes to the preseason. That’s because teams will get an extended look at their starters, often playing their regulars into the third quarter. In Week 4, starters either won’t play or will only get one series so this week is the closet you’ll get to regular season action.
On Thursday night, the Eagles will host the Browns at 7:30PM ET. Oddsmakers have installed Philadelphia as a 6.5-point favorite over Cleveland, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 40 points. Also on Thursday, the Bengals will host Cam Newton and the Panthers (+2.5) at 7:00PM ET.
On Friday, the Peyton Manning-less Colts are 9-point home underdogs against the defending Super Bowl champion Packers at 8:00PM ET. The Chiefs also play host to Sam Bradford and the Rams, who are 2.5-point road favorites at 8:00PM ET. It’s a little surprising to see St. Louis favored on the road, but the Rams are 2-0 so far this preseason.
On Saturday, in-state rivals clash when the Giants host the Jets at 7:00PM ET. The odds have yet to be released for this game, however, because New York played on Monday night. Also on Saturday, the Steelers are 4-point favorites over Matt Ryan and the Falcons. This will be a rematch of Week 1 of the regular season last year, when Pittsburgh beat Atlanta in a defensive struggle.
The Patriots will also travel to Detroit on Saturday night at 8:00PM ET, where they’re 4-point road favorites. Donovan McNabb and the Vikings will host the Cowboys (-1) at 8:00PM Et and Arizona (+3) will host San Diego at 10:00PM ET.
There is no Monday Night Football game this week but there is Sunday night action as the Raiders will host the Saints at 8:00PM ET. Oddsmakers have made the visiting Saints 4.5-point favorites over Oakland, which has yet to win a game so far this preseason.
