Updated Stanley Cup Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs have the second round set to start Thursday night and the odds have been updated for which team will win it all.
The Vancouver Canucks are still the favorite to win the Stanley Cup according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com. The Canucks have 5/2 odds to win it all while other short odds are San Jose (4/1), Washington (4/1), and Detroit (9/2),
Vancouver is the top seed in the West and the Canucks had the best record of any team in the NHL, yet they were taken to seven games by Chicago in the first round. The Canucks had a 3-0 lead in the series but Chicago fought back to force a game 7, which Vancouver won in overtime. Vancouver will now take on Nashville in the second round.
San Jose is the No. 2 seed in the West. The Sharks disposed of the L.A. Kings in six games in the first round. The Sharks will now take on the Red Wings in the second round.
Washington is the No. 1 seed in the East. The Capitals avoided another first round disappointment by beating the N.Y. Rangers in five games in the first round. The Capitals will now face Tampa Bay in the second round.
Detroit was the only team to sweep in its first round series, as the Wings beat the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round. Detroit has been off for over a week and will now face San Jose in the second round.
