ARLINGTON, TX (TheSpread) – Hines Ward has been a constant for the Pittsburgh Steelers during their success over the last few years, but can this veteran put on a big game at Super Bowl XLV?

A third round draft pick in 1998, Ward has played 13 seasons for the Steelers, but this past one was one of his least productive since joining the team. He finished the season with 59 receptions for 755 yards and five touchdowns.
For Super Bowl XLV, oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have given Ward over/under odds of 39.5 yards and 3.5 receptions against the Packers.
Ward averaged 47.2 yards and 3.68 receptions per game during the regular season. In the playoffs he has had just five receptions for 39 yards combined. Ward seems to be getting phased out of the offense for younger, faster receivers.
Despite production numbers going down, Ward could still be a big part of Sunday’s game as Green Bay has lockdown corners on the outside, which may open the door for a physical veteran like himself to be a bigger part of the offense in the middle of the field. He is never afraid to take a hit, and could be a key third-down receiver on Sunday.
Ward has also been given over/under odds of 15.5 yards for his longest reception of the game. Ward has passed that mark in 9 of 17 games he played in. Again, despite a lackluster season by his standards, I see Ward having a good day on Sunday.
His average of 47.2 receiving yards per game would work out to a wager of +450 on the receiving yards prop odds list. The odds stay pretty low from 0-to-70 yards but once it hits 71 yards, it jumps to odds of +1000.
