Broncos vs. Chiefs Odds

KANSAS CITY, MO (TheSpread) – The Kansas City Chiefs have revenge on their minds when they host the Denver Broncos at 1PM ET on Sunday.

Denver is 3-8 on the season and just 1-4 on the road while Kansas City is 7-4 on the season and 5-0 at home. The Broncos handed the Chiefs a 49-29 loss in Denver a few weeks ago. Trends show that the home team is 13-6-1 against the spread in the last 20 games in this series while the over has hit in six of the last seven games between these two teams.

Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made Kansas City a 9.5-point favorite at home for this game against Denver. The over/under has been set at 48.5. (View Matchup)

Opening odds had the Chiefs favored by 7.5 points but the spread has moved up to 9.5 over the week. The over/under total opened at 47 points, but that also has been growing all week and is now settled in at 48.5.

Kansas City has won two straight since the loss to the Broncos. The Chiefs have scored 73 points over the last two weeks and at home three of their five wins have come by at least 18 points. The Chiefs average 375.2 yards per game thanks to a strong rushing attack that accounts for 174.3 yards per game. Jamaal Charles has led the way with 1,021 yards rushing and three scores while Thomas Jones has 712 yards rushing with five scores.

The Broncos haven’t won since that win over Kansas City. Denver has struggled to have consistency this season as the offense is averaging 367.6 yards per game, but 288.3 of that comes from the passing attack. Kyle Orton is having a solid year, but most of his efforts come when the team is behind. Orton has thrown for 3,370 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season to lead the team. Receiver Brandon Lloyd is among the leading receivers in the league as he has 58 catches for 1,122 yards and nine scores.

In terms of injuries, Denver receiver Demaryius Thomas is questionable with an ankle injury while Kansas City cornerback Brandon Flowers is questionable with a hamstring injury.

Over 20,000 public bets have been placed on this game and Kansas City is getting 56% of the wagers at -9.5 against Denver on Sunday.
