NFL Week 11 Public Betting Report

As usual, the public is all over the favorites this week, although they do like one road dog today. Continue reading to find out whom the public likes in Week 11 of the NFL.

According to latest NFL public betting information, over 80% of the nearly 50,000 wagers placed on the Ravens-Panthers game today were on Baltimore –11.5. Carolina is starting Brian St. Pierre (who has attempted just five passes in his career) due to injuries and will be without running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Yikes.

Per latest NFL odds, the Atlanta Falcons are only 3-point favorites over the St. Louis Rams in Week 11. Nearly 80% of the public doesn’t mind laying the field goal on the road with the Falcons, who are currently leading the NFC with a 7-2 record.

The lone underdog to crack the top five this week are the Buccaneers, who are 3.5-point dogs at the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Troy Smith has rejuvenated the Niners’ offense and has essentially prolonged coach Mike Singletary’s stay in San Francisco. For Tampa, Josh Freeman has been outstanding in his second year and has the Bucs thinking playoffs.

Public’s Top 5 in Week 11:

  1. Baltimore Ravens –11.5 83% (49,888)
  2. Atlanta Falcons –3 78% (41,453)
  3. Tampa Bay Bucs +3.5 71% (31,963)
  4. Philadelphia Eagles –3 70% (36,127)
  5. Green Bay Packers –3 68% (42,149)

Thanks to a great showing on Monday night that has convinced some that Michael Vick and the Eagles are the best team in the NFC, 70% of the public favors Philadelphia tonight against division rival New York. The Giants were beaten handily by the depleted Cowboys last weekend in New York, although beware of the bounce-back, public.

The latest team to crack the top-5 was the Packers, who are 3-point favorites over Brett Favre and the Vikings this week. Green Bay should be fresh coming off its bye and needs a win to keep pace with the Bears in the NFC North. Although he’s struggled with turnovers this season, beating Favre on his home turf won’t be easy.
