The Bucs are 6-3 on the season and 3-1 on the road while the 49ers are 3-6 on the year and 3-2 at home. Trends show that the home team is 6-0 against the spread in the last six games in this series while the under has hit in five of the last six meetings between these two teams.

Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL have made the 49ers a 3.5-point favorite at home against Tampa Bay on Sunday. The over/under total has been set at 42.5. (View Matchup)

The opening point spread odds had 49ers favored by 3 points and that spread held steady all week before adding the hook late. The over/under total opened at 40.5 and has since climbed up to 42.5.

Tampa Bay has won three of their last four games, with the lone loss coming in Atlanta. The Bucs have been surprisingly strong all season as their offense averages 20.9 points and 327.9 yards per game. Their offense has received a recent surge due to the breakout of rookie running back LeGarrette Blount. Blount has rushed for 359 yards and four touchdowns in six appearances, but has rushed for over 90 yards in two of his last three games. The Tampa defense is allowing 22.9 points and 353.8 yards per game and the Bucs have struggled against the run, allowing 143.8 yards per game on the ground.

San Francisco has also won three of its last four after getting off to an 0-5 start. The 49ers have been playing well as of late since the addition of quarterback Troy Smith to the team. Smith replaced the injured Alex Smith and has thrown for 552 yards and two touchdowns without an interception in two games of work. The San Francisco defense has given up an average of 22 points and 331.4 yards per game on the year. The team has 20 sacks altogether.

In terms of injuries, San Francisco starting left tackle Joe Staley is out until late December with a leg injury while center Eric Heitmann was placed on the IR this week with a neck injury. Tampa Bay receiver Mike Williams is listed as questionable as he could miss the game due to disciplinary action after being arrested for a DUI this week.

Over 29,000 public bets have been placed on this game with the Buccaneers getting 73% of the wagers at +3.5 against the 49ers.
