Browns vs. Jaguars Odds
The Jacksonville Jaguars are on a roll as of late and they look to keep the winning going on Sunday when they host the streaky Cleveland Browns.
The Jaguars are 5-4 on the season and 3-2 at home while the Browns are 3-6 on the season and 1-3 on the road. Trends show that the Browns are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in Jacksonville and the road team has covered in five of the last six in this series.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made the Jaguars a 1-point favorite at home against the Browns on Sunday. The over/under has been set at 43. (View Matchup).
Opening odds had Jacksonville favored by 3 points but the spread has dropped all week before closing at -1. The over/under total opened at 42 and peaked at 44 before closing at 43.
The Jaguars have won two straight, scoring at least 31 points in both games. The Jags have scored at least 31 points in their last four wins. Their offense is averaging just 21.8 points and 331.7 yards per game, but the recent play of David Garrard has given the team a boost. On the year, Garrard has thrown for 1,440 yards and 15 touchdowns and also has seven interceptions. The Jaguars are giving up 27.8 points and 387.2 yards per game on defense, including 272.3 passing yards per game.
Cleveland is coming off a 26-20 overtime loss to the Jets, which ended a two-game winning streak for them. The Browns have shown improvement over the last few weeks due to the breakout of Peyton Hillis, who has rushed for 726 yards and eight touchdowns and caught 34 passes for 256 yards and a score this season. On the year, the Brownsβ offense is averaging 19.1 points and 305.7 yards per game. On defense, the Browns are giving up 20.2 points and 358.6 yards per game, including 113.2 rushing yards per game.
In terms of injuries, Cleveland linebacker Scott Fujita is doubtful for Sundayβs game because of a knee injury while quarterbacks Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace are both questionable with ankle injuries. Jacksonville receiver Mike Sims-Walker is doubtful to play on Sunday because of an ankle injury.
