Panthers vs. Buccaneers Odds

Tampa Bay looks to remain a factor in the NFC North race on Sunday as the Buccaneers host the Carolina Panthers at 1PM ET.

The Bucs are 5-3 on the season and 2-2 at home while the Panthers are just 1-7 overall and 0-3 on the road. The Panthers are 13-6 against the spread in their last 19 games with Tampa Bay while the over has hit in five of the last six games in this series that were played in Tampa Bay.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Tampa Bay a 7-point favorite at home against Carolina. The over/under has been set at 37.

Opening point spread odds had Tampa Bay favored by 7. The spread dropped down to 6.5 during the week before moving back to 7. The over/under opened at 35.5 and has climbed all week before ending at 37.

Tampa Bay is coming off a hard-fought loss to Atlanta last weekend. The Bucs lost 27-21, which ended a two-game winning streak. Josh Freeman has thrown for 1,722 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season while LeGarrette Blount has rushed for 268 yards and three scores in five games of work. Rookie Mike Williams has caught 36 passes for 559 yards and five touchdowns while Barrett Ruud has 60 tackles to lead the defense and Aqib Talib has five interceptions.

Carolina has lost two straight and has little to offer on offense this week as the Panthers will have to start rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen due to an injury to Matt Moore and the Panthers are also down to starting Mike Goodson at running back as DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Tyrell Sutton are all out due to injuries. Clausen has thrown for 501 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions this season while Goodson has just 50 rushing yards on 16 carries. James Anderson has 77 tackles and three sacks to lead the defense while Charles Godfrey has four interceptions.

Carolina defensive end Greg Hardy is doubtful for Sunday with a head injury while Tampa Bay defensive tackle Ryan Sims is questionable with a knee injury.

Over 13,500 bets have been placed on this game with Tampa Bay getting 80% of the public wagers at -7 against Carolina.
