Patriots vs. Browns Free Pick
Fresh off their bye, the Browns host the team with the best record in the AFC when the Patriots come to town this Sunday. Read on for our free pick of this Week 9 matchup.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Browns a 3.5-point home underdog against the Patriots in Week 9. The over/under total for this game is currently 43.5 points.
New England enters this game with a stellar 6-1 record and is 4-2-1 against the number. The Pats are also 2-1 on the road this season and covered in two of those three games.
The Browns are just 2-5 overall and have only covered in three of those four games. Theyโre also 1-2 in Cleveland this year and failed to cover in two of those three home games.
Our Week 9 Free Pick:
Given how good the Patriots have looked since losing to the Jets earlier in the season, it would be easy to lay the points and pick them in this situation. But the Browns have been playing with more confidence these days and are well rested coming off the bye. They beat the Saints two weeks ago and seem to have taken on a different persona with Colt McCoy under center. The home team is 4-1-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams and while the point spread is pretty low, we like the Browns to cover. Their defense is better than people realize and Eric Mangini is well aware of what Bill Belichick likes to do in terms of game plan. Our pick is Cleveland plus the points.
