Monday’s NHL Prediction

Colorado has gotten off to a good start to the 2010-11 NHL Season as the Avalanche leads the Northwest Division, but the Avs hit the road Monday night when they take on the New York Rangers.

Bet NHL Odds

The Avalanche are 3-2-0 on the season with 16 goals scored and 18 goals allowed while the Rangers are 1-1-1 with 13 goals scored and allowed.

The Avalanche have went 6-3-1 in their last 10 games against the Rangers in New York but have lost the last two overall meetings with New York.

Here is a look at the trends and my pick for Monday’s game.

Colorado Avalanche at New York Rangers, 7PM ET

Trends favor New York as they are 7-3 in their last 10 games as a favorite of -110 to -150 and 5-1 in their last 6 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less the game prior.

The Avalanche are 1-6 in their last 7 games when playing on 1 day of rest and 1-6 in their last 7 games following a loss of 3 or more goals.

With New York at home, I like the Rangers because they aren’t heavily favored and they are the fresher team.
