Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made San Diego a 9-point favorite on the road against the Rams. The over/under has been set at 44.5.

The opening point spread had the Chargers favored by 9 but that dropped down to 8 during the week before moving back up to 9. The over/under point total opened at 45 and didn’t change until late in the week where it dropped to 44.5.

The Chargers have lost all three road games this year, giving up at least 21 points in each loss. Philip Rivers has thrown or 1,759 yards and 11 touchdowns while Malcom Floyd and Antonio Gates each have over 475 receiving yards with 10 combined touchdowns.

St. Louis 2-3 on the year and coming off a 44-6 loss to Detroit. The Rams had been steady to that point, not allowing more than 16 points in a game in the first four games. Sam Bradford has been respectable for a rookie quarterback as he has thrown for 1,159 yards with six touchdowns, but also has eight interceptions. Steven Jackson has added 398 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Trends favor St. Louis in this game as the Rams are 5-1 against the spread in their last six after failing to cover the week before. San Diego is 0-4 ATS in their last four as a road favorite.

The Rams have to replace receiver Mark Clayton who had his season ended last week with a knee injury. San Diego receiver Legedu Naanee is questionable with a hamstring injury while linebacker Larry English is still out with a lingering ankle injury.
