Rams vs. Lions Free Pick
The surprising Rams look to make it three in a row this Sunday when they travel to Detroit to take on the Lions. Read on to check out our free pick for this Week 5 NFL matchup.
Before we hand out our free pick, let’s take a look at the odds for this contest.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Lions a 3-point home favorite over the Rams in Week 5. The over/under total for this game has been set at 42.5.
The Free Pick:
For as well as Sam Bradford has played in his first four games, he’s turned the ball over at least once in each one of his outings. I look for that trend to continue this weekend in Detroit and for him to set the Lions up with ample field position. The same goes for the Rams, who should have plenty of opportunities to score this weekend thanks to a Lions team that is turnover prone itself.
The over is 4-1-1 in the Lions’ last six games in October and 4-1 in their last five home games. The total has also gone over in four of Detroit’s last five games as a favorite and is 5-1 in the Rams’ last six games in Week 5.
The turnover will reign supreme on Sunday, which is why my free pick for this contest is the over 42.5. I also think the Lions will play better than most people think, which also factors into my pick. They were the only team to lose to the Rams last season, so they’ll have revenge on their minds.
