2010 NFL Week 4 Picks

Several marquee divisional matchups highlight the Week 4 schedule in the NFL this Sunday. Read on to check out our picks for this weekend’s NFL action.

Bet NFL Week 4 Odds

It was a .500 Sunday in Week 3, as my picks were the Falcons, Cowboys, 49ers and Broncos. That runs the season total to 5-6-1, but it’s still early and there’s plenty of time to get the prediction mark in the green.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns, 1:00PM ET

The underdog is 6-0 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams and Cleveland is 7-1 ATS versus the AFC in its last eight games. The Browns are 0-3 but are coming off a nice effort against the Ravens last weekend in Baltimore. Jake Delhomme may be healthy enough to play, but hopefully Seneca Wallace gets a least one more shot under center because he provides the Browns with more mobility. Look for corner Eric Wright to have a bounce back game and for the Browns to pick up their first win of the year. There’s a lot of value in Cleveland getting points at home this weekend, especially given how bad the Bengals looked last Sunday.

Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams, 1:00PM ET

The Seahawks are 2-1, but their play is night and day at home compared to on the road. They’ve always been one of the more inconsistent road teams in the league, even dating back to their run at the Super Bowl earlier this decade. There’s no bigger proof of that then this season, where both of their wins have come at home and their only loss was a beat down at the hands of the Broncos in Denver. Therefore, our prediction is for the Rams, who have been in every game this year and who are now playing with confidence following their first victory. The health status of running back Steven Jackson is concerning, but this is more about the Seahawks than it is about the Rams. Seattle is simply a different team on the road then they are at home.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills, 1:00PM ET

Oddsmakers have overvalued you the Jets while enticing bettors to take the Bills. So take the points and pick the Bills, because even though the Jets have looked good the past two weeks, they’re due for a small letdown. Divisional games are generally pretty close as it is and seeing as how this game will be played in Buffalo, there’s a lot of value in taking the Bills. The move to Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback paid off last week and even though New York’s defense is stingy, I still like Buffalo +5 at home.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, 4:05PM ET

The Colts are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game, which they did in their win last week against the Broncos. They’re also 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game, while the Jags are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games following a double-digit home loss. My prediction for this contest is the Jags, who will face a road-weary Colts team at home and should turn in a better outing than they did last week against the Eagles. This is certainly a more inferior Jacksonville team than we’ve seen in year’s past, but the Jags always seem to give the Colts a game.
