Here’s a rundown of who covered and who didn’t after the opening week in the NFL, as well as a breakdown of some of the more surprising finishes from Week 1.

Here’s a look at some of the surprising covers last week:

49ers at Seahawks

Many pundits consider the 49ers the best team in the NFC West this year, but they certainly didn’t play like it last Sunday in Seattle. Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com had installed San Fran as a 3-point favorite in that game, but the Niners were blown out, 31-6. The Seahawks dominated in every phase of the game from the first whistle to the sound of the final gun.

Cowboys at Redskins

The Sunday Night game was a dud in Washington, as the Redskins’ defense completely befuddled a lethargic Dallas offense. The Cowboys were in the game the entire time, but the Tashard Choice fumble right before half was a death sentence for Dallas backers. With their 13-7 outright victory, the Skins easily covered the 3.5-point spread.

Chargers at Chiefs

San Diego certainly has its fair share of issues on both sides of the ball, but the Bolts were a mess in Kansas City Monday night. The Chiefs rattled off three big plays in the first quarter, including a long touchdown run by running back Jamaal Charles and a punt return for a touchdown by rookie Dexter McCluster. The Chargers made things interesting at the end, but never came close to covering the 4-point spread in a 21-14 loss.
