The Dallas Cowboys finally got over the playoff hump last season with a win in the opening round. But can they put it all together to make a Super Bowl run this year?

The Cowboys were quiet this offseason, deciding to stick with the roster that got them to the Divisional Round of the playoffs last season. (Although they did release offensive tackle Flozell Adams and safety Ken Hamlin.)

Heading into the draft, Dallas’ top needs were offensive line, safety, linebacker and defensive line, but in the first round Jerry Jones nabbed talented Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant when he fell to him with the 24th overall pick. In the second, the Cowboys selected Penn State linebacker Sean Lee and in the fourth, they took Indiana cornerback Akwasi Owusu-Ansah.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com currently list the Cowboys at 12/1 to win the 2011 Super Bowl and 6/1 to win the NFC. They’re also +130 on the moneyline to win the NFC East and their 2010 season win total has been set at 9.5.

Assuming they stay relatively healthy, the ‘Boys odds offer some real value. They have a solid defense, a veteran quarterback in Tony Romo, an excellent ground game courtesy of Felix Jones and Marion Barber III, and have added another playmaker in the rookie Bryant.

Another reason to like Dallas this year is that the rest of the division is a question mark. The Giants haven’t necessarily improved after missing the playoffs last year, the Eagles lost Donovan McNabb and while the Skins added the former Philly QB (as well as an established head coach in Mike Shanahan), they’re still a year or two away from making a postseason run.

The Cowboys got the playoff monkey off their back last year and they could have all the pieces in place to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

2011 Super Bowl Odds: Dallas Cowboys 12/1

Odds to Win the NFC: Dallas Cowboys 6/1

Odds to Win the NFC East: Dallas Cowboys +130

2010 NFL Season Win Totals: Dallas Cowboys 9.5
