Fly Down continues to be one of the favorites to win the 2010 Belmont Stakes, which takes place tonight at 6:30PM ET.
Fly Down Race Info:
Owner(s): Richard C. Pell
Trainer: Nicholas P. Zito
Jockey: John Velazquez
Post Position: No. 5
Updated Odds:
Fly Down opened at 4/1 to win the Belmont Stakes, but according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, his odds are now 4.5/1.
Recent Race History:
Fly Down is coming off a victory at the G2 Dwyer on May 8 in which he beat fellow Belmont Stakes contender Drosselmeyer, who finished second. Previous to that outing, however, Fly Down finished ninth at the Louisiana Derby on March 27.
Betting Analysis:
It’s hard not to like Fly Down considering he’s 2-0 against fellow Belmont Stakes favorite, First Dude. Although this will be his first race with Grade 1 contenders, Fly Down has proven that he can run at Belmont Park after winning the Dwyer here in early May. Throw out his ninth place finish at the Louisiana Derby and Fly Down has a sparkling three wins in his last four races. We can’t wait to see what this horse can do and we believe he’s meant to race on this surface and this park. Can he win? Absolutely.
