Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com opened the line for the NFC Championship Game at Saints –4.5, but the point spread has since dropped to New Orleans –3.5. The over/under total, however, has stayed steady at 53 points, although some sports books are offering the total at 53.5.

Both of these teams covered last week as favorites, as the Saints beat the Cardinals 45-14 as a 7-point fav and the Vikings beat the Cowboys 34-3 with a point spread of –3. Neither team played in the opening round of the playoffs after earning byes during the regular season.

Vikings vs. Saints Injuries

The Vikings have several key injuries, most notably defensive linemen Ray Edwards and Kevin Williams, as well as receivers Percy Harvin and Bernard Berrian. Edwards suffered a knee injury against the Cowboys and missed practice time this week, but is expected to play. Harvin is suffering from migraines and might not play at all, while Berrian (ankle) and Williams (knee) are both expected to play.

For the Saints, Malcolm Jenkins, Jeremy Shockey, Robert Meachem and Darren Sharper all missed some practice this week, although all of them are expected to play.

Public Betting Information:

Of the 29,016 wagers that have currently been placed on the NFC Championship Game, 53% of bets have been placed on the Vikings +3.5. But this may change as more public bettors get involved.
