The New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts will meet for the 2010 AFC Championship Game, with Peyton Manning’s team opening as the favorites.
After knocking off the Baltimore Ravens 20-3 as a 6.5-point favorite in the Divisional Round, the Colts find themselves 7-point favorites against the Jets in the 2010 AFC Championship Game according to oddsmakers from the Las Vegas MGM Mirage. The over/under total for the AFC title game has been set at 39 points.
The Colts enter the game with a 15-2 overall record, which includes an 11-6 record against the spread. Meanwhile, the Jets are 11-7 straight up this season and 11-7 against the spread. The over has hit in nine of 17 games for the Colts and eight of 18 games for the Jets.
Thus far in the playoffs, the Jets have averaged 307.5 yards of offense per game, including 170 rushing yards per contest. They’ve also averaged 20.5 points, with both of their victories coming on the road. The Jets also have the league’s best defense and running game.
The Colts have only played in one game, but in that contest they racked up 275 total yards of offense and 20 points. They only rushed for 42 yards, but the ground game has hardly been a strength this season.
Kickoff for Sunday’s game is scheduled for 3:00 PM ET at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The roof will be on for the game, so weather won’t be a factor.
