Hawks vs. Packers Pick
The Green Bay Packers hope to nail down a playoff spot in the NFC with a win over the struggling Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 1:00PM ET.
The Seahawks lost to the Buccaneers 24-7 as a 6.5-point underdog in Week 15, as the combined score fell under the posted total of 39 points. Matt Hasselbeck threw for 256 yards with a touchdown and four interceptions for Seattle, while John Carlson caught seven passes for 86 yards and a score.
The Packers lost to the Steelers 37-36 as a 3-point underdog in Week 15, as the combined score fell under the posted total of 42 points. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 383 yards with three touchdown passes and one TD run for Green Bay, while receiver Greg Jennings had five receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Packers 14-point favorites over the Seahawks in Week 16. The over/under total for today’s game has been set at 41.5 points.
Some trends to consider for this game are that Seattle is 4-9 against the spread in its last 13 games and 1-7 ATS in its last eight games on the road. The Packers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games and 3-1-2 ATS in their last six games when playing the Seahawks.
We don’t see much value in Seattle this week. They’ve failed to cover in their past two games and have combined to score just 14 points in their past two outings. They’re also coming off back-to-back blowouts, have nothing to play for and was shellacked 42-20 the last time they played in Green Bay.
The Seahawks’ defense has been a mess this season and Rodgers should take advantage of a secondary that is allowing close to 250 yards per game this season. Our free pick prediction for this contest is the Packers –14 and the under, seeing as how the Seahawks will have a tough time scoring double digit points again.
Our NFL Week 16 Free Pick for this matchup is: GREEN BAY PACKERS -14 and UNDER 41.5.
